Ways to Detox the Mind

1) Get in some movement - a brisk walk, a 30 minute dance workout, yoga, etc...any exercise that makes you happy will help you destress

2) Journal - Writing down whatever is stressing you out and ranting about your feelings and all the thoughts clouding up your mind basically becomes a "brain dump." If you're writing about negative things, go ahead and rip/throw out that paper. We're done with that negativity.

3) Blast music - In your AirPods, on your laptop, through your Alexa...the possibilities are endless. Have an updated playlist at the ready that has all the songs that hit the spot.

4) Detox your phone - On social media, unfollow all the people that don't make you feel at your best or bring a negative influence. Models? Influencers? Unfollow if they're not helping your mindset. Got random, useless photos in your camera roll? Delete them. By the end of this detox, you'll feel like a whole new person who is in control of his/her life.

5) Take a break from your work and make something - A drawing. A song. A new recipe is my go-to for detoxing my mind, whether it's a simple smoothie, a new combo (I recommend banana + chocolate), or a comfort food. Whatever it is, the key here is to MAKE it. If it's just from your pantry, you're not really doing much. Doing something with your hands can distract you from your stress, even for just a bit.

Here's an example of a smoothie bowl I made during one of the breaks between my study sessions.
